North Lowther Energy Initiative

BayWa r.e. is progressing the development of the proposed North Lowther Energy Initiative (NLEI) in the Lowther Hills between Sanquhar and Wanlockhead in Dumfries and Galloway. BayWa r.e. acquired the NLEI project in May 2019 as part of its purchase of Forsa Energy’s renewable energy portfolio.

The NLEI project comprises 30 turbines with a maximum height to blade tip of 149m and NLEI has secured a grid connection for up to 151 MW.
