local case study
United KingdomLittle Gala Wind Farm is located approximately 2.5km southeast of the village of Rigside and 4km west of Wiston, in South Lanarkshire. The site is currently a working farm used for grazing livestock, which will continue following the construction of the wind farm.
We are currently preparing the Little Gala Wind Farm planning application for submission to South Lanarkshire Council. The submitted proposal will be for 6 turbines with a maximum height of 149.9 m to blade tip and a total installed capacity around 30MW.
Throughout the life of the project, we are committed to fully engaging with members of the local community. To date we have contacted Duneaton Community Council and Rigside Residents Association to introduce the project and sent the Scoping Report to Douglas Community Council and Carmichael Community Council to seek their views on the scheme.
Whilst attending regular Community Council meetings to discuss projects is not possible in light of the current Covid restrictions, we want to keep the local community updated and would be happy to answer any questions that may arise.
