Maximising the renewable transition with Floating-PV technology
Turn unused bodies of water into renewable energy assets.
Unlocking the hidden value of unused bodies of water
Floating solar photovoltaic (Floating-PV) systems use bodies of water like disused quarries, mining pits, and reservoirs. Investors and landowners can make big contributions to the green energy revolution whilst avoiding the use of land-based areas. We’ve delivered 15 Floating-PV farms globally in all sorts of market conditions, totalling over 230 MWp.
How does floating-PV work?

Leading the way in Floating-PV systems
With numerous projects across the globe, BayWa r.e. have been at the forefront of Floating-PV technology since 2018. With projects like our 29.8 MWp Uivermeertjes site, and 41.4 MWp at Sellingen, we’re delivering the biggest projects outside Asia.
Our proprietary floating substructure solution won the 2020 PV Magazine Innovation Award. Today, we’re looking for suitable water bodies where we can develop, construct and manage the operation of Floating PV projects. Our experienced team is able to undertake the following:
Project development incl. procurement of all necessary permits
Procurement of components from proven partners
Turnkey construction
Financing
Direct marketing
Power purchase agreements (PPAs)
Operational support
