At BayWa r.e., we believe that renewable energy goes hand in hand with community responsibility. Throughout 2025, our teams across the UK and Ireland have proudly supported a wide range of charities and local initiatives, making a positive impact beyond our projects.

Volunteering Days

Our Asset Operations colleagues dedicated an incredible 300+ hours supporting over 19 charitable organisations, such as the Salvation Army, North Berwick Seabird Centre, RSPCA, Water of Leith Conservation Trust, Birchington Veteran's Association, Milton Keynes Discovery Centre, Emmaus UK and many more; helping improve facilities, sorting through food and clothing donations and generally providing hands-on assistance to those who need it most.

Community Engagement

As part of our commitment to local communities where we develop renewable energy projects, we supported grassroots initiatives including:

  • Ballymahon Forgney Gaelic for Mothers & Others: providing new kit for their tournament in Barcelona.

  • Listry GAA Club: in their fundraising for a new AstroTurf pitch and extended walking track.

  • Kilkenny Macra's annual Mr Personality Festival: a vibrant celebration that brings together young people to showcase their talents, foster community spirits, and celebrate rural Ireland.

Celebrating Pride Month

To mark Pride month in June this year, we were delighted to have made a donation to Galop, to support their vital work in helping members of the LGBTQ+ community who have experienced abuse and violence. This contribution reflects our shared commitment to supporting LGBTQ+ communities and fostering a more inclusive and compassionate workplace as part of our DEI initiatives.

Fundraising for CHAS

Our in-house football all-star team joined the Business Fives football tournament, raising vital funds for Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS), supporting families during the toughest times. Our team secured an impressive 4th place and could raise several hundred pounds for CHAS!

Environmental Action

Our teams rolled up their sleeves for:

  • Community clean-up events in Scotland, helping to keep the beaches and streets in our local area free of litter;

  • A beach clean with the Scottish Seabird Centre at North Berwick, clearing over 6 kg of rubbish;

  • Woodland clean-ups in Northern and Southeast England to accommodate for natural habitats for the flora and fauna in those environments. This included erecting ant-predator fencing to protect ground nesting seabirds;

  • The Cleaning & Greening initiative in Cork, where our Irish colleagues joined the Cork Business Association picking up litter, washing the streets and adding fresh coats of paint.

 Well done to all of our colleagues who supported these initiatives! Together, we helped protect local ecosystems and keep our surroundings beautiful.

Supporting Health & Wellbeing

Across our offices, we hosted Macmillan Coffee Mornings, raising funds for cancer support services and bringing colleagues together for a great cause.

Standing in Solidarity

For Refugee Week, our colleague Elisa Babkina organised a fundraiser in support of British-Ukrainian Aid, helping provide essential resources to those displaced by conflict.

Giving Back over the Festive Period

Our teams came together again during the festive season to make a difference. Every BayWa r.e. office planned a Christmas Jumper Day to raise funds for Save the Children, helping provide essential support to vulnerable children and families in the UK and around the world. Alongside this, all offices are collecting donations for local food banks, ensuring that people in need receive vital supplies during the winter months. These efforts reflect our ongoing commitment to giving back and supporting communities where we live and work.

Thank you to all our colleagues and partners who made these initiatives possible. At BayWa r.e., we are proud to power not only renewable energy but also positive change in the communities we serve.
