Championing Community Engagement Across Scotland
Inspiring Future Talent at the Crawick Multiverse
Our team was excited to attend the Outdoor Careers Event at Crawick Multiverse in Sanquhar, where we met over 200 enthusiastic pupils from schools across Dumfries & Galloway and Ayrshire.
Representing BayWa r.e. were Joshua Barrie, one of our Renewables Developers, and Michael Cowie, our GIS Manager. They shared their personal career journeys and gave students a glimpse into the diverse opportunities within the renewable energy sector. Michael even brought along his drone, sparking plenty of curiosity as he demonstrated how geospatial technology helps us plan and deliver projects.
Celebrating Community at Galloway Country Fair
We were delighted to return to the Galloway Country Fair, where we proudly sponsored the ever-popular Dog Competition and hosted a stand to connect with local residents.
Our friends at Earth Energy Education joined us again, bringing hands-on activities that helped children and parents explore the science behind wind power. It was fantastic to see so many families eager to learn about renewable energy!
Visitors also had the chance to chat with us about upcoming developments, including Cloud Hill and Glensalloch Wind Farms in Dumfries and Galloway, and the Redshaw Battery Storage Project in South Lanarkshire. These projects reflect our ongoing commitment to supporting Scotland’s energy transition and empowering local communities.
Highland Gathering: A Celebration of Culture and Community
We were thrilled to be back at the Highland Gathering, continuing our support for this vibrant event since its launch in 2022.
Special thanks to Jillian Adams and Graeme Fowler, who represented BayWa r.e. and the Corriegarth 2 Wind Farm project. It was a wonderful opportunity to share updates, answer questions, and celebrate Highland traditions alongside locals.
Our crafting corner proved a big hit with children, who enjoyed making kites and colouring. We were also delighted to welcome back Pam, whose creative face painting brought plenty of smiles.
This year, we were proud to sponsor the main marquee, which showcased an impressive range of local arts and crafts, adding even more colour and creativity to the day.
Honouring the Highland’s Tourism and Hospitality Sector
We were excited to attend this year’s Highland & Island Thistle Awards yet again, sponsoring the Best Outdoor or Adventure Experience award, in line with our commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship. Preserving natural spaces plays a key role in how we develop our renewable energy projects, which is why this award perfectly reflects BayWa r.e.’s ongoing support of responsible interaction with nature.
It was fantastic to celebrate businesses and individuals whose passion and commitment make the Highlands & Islands an unforgettable destination: well done to all the worthy winners!
Looking Ahead
Events like these remind us why we do what we do: building a cleaner, greener future while strengthening ties with the communities we serve. Thank you to everyone who joined us: we look forward to seeing you at future events across Scotland!
