BayWa r.e. has today announced a strategic partnership with the Exeter based solar PV company SunGift Trade Ltd. The two companies are co-operating to extend the offering to the customers of SunGift Trade, the distribution arm of the pioneering and award winning renewable energy installer SunGift Solar Ltd.

SunGift and BayWa r.e. have entered into partnership to strengthen their position on the UK solar PV market. BayWa r.e. as a natural choice will support the trade customer base by supplying high quality products from leading manufacturers whilst SunGift Solar focus on the installation and consultancy activities of the business.

Located in Exeter, Devon, Sungift Trade are based within the ‘Solar Powerhouse’ that the South West of England represents, enjoying the highest irradiation and concentration of PV installations. This is also an area that holds great potential for BayWa r.e. as they look to supply a customer base who are keen to develop new offerings to domestic and commercial end users of PV.

With solar PV becoming increasingly established as an essential part of the UK’s energy mix, the long term future for the sector is bright.

Ian Draisey, Managing Director of BayWa r.e.’s PV trade business in the UK, says: “I am simply delighted that we are able to work with SunGift in this way. They are so well respected for the things we see as our core values: quality products, technical capability and customer focus. We see this as a very positive step for all concerned. I am confident that we will be ideally positioned to carry on and advance the support and service that SunGift Trade has provided over the years to their customers”.

Gabriel Wondrausch, Managing Director of SunGift Solar adds: “With SunGift’s unique experience within the renewable energy sector we have decided now is the right time to separate the two different areas of the business. We feel our distribution customers can be best served by a business dedicated to serving their requirements. SunGift is going to put its full resources behind the design and installation business serving domestic and commercial customers that has enjoyed so much success over the years and allow the specialist Baywa r.e. to serve the SunGift Trade side of the business. We feel this is an extremely good partnership due to the shared ethos of the two businesses and the complementary product lines that will be beneficial to SunGift Trade customers”.
